Practice Fusion

The OrthOS EHR Bridge Chrome extension puts your note into the Practice Fusion encounter and imports your Practice Fusion agenda. Your Operant Health contact will send you the install link. Before you start, make sure your practice’s schedule time zone is set and your providers are on your team. See set up your practice.

Connect the extension

  1. In Chrome, open the extension and click Connect OrthOS.
  2. A page asks Connect the OrthOS Chrome extension? Click Approve connection.
  3. The first time you use it, Chrome asks for access to Practice Fusion. Allow it.

Insert a note

1

Open the encounter

In Practice Fusion, open the patient’s encounter and put it in edit mode.
2

Find the note

Open the extension and click Find visit note. It matches on the patient’s name, date of birth and visit date. If it can’t find a match, use Find a report to copy.
3

Insert it

Review the note and click Insert into note. The text is added after anything already in the encounter.
4

Save and sign in Practice Fusion

The extension never saves or signs anything in Practice Fusion. Do that there, as you normally would.
You can insert a draft as well as a signed note. A signed Practice Fusion encounter can’t be changed. To leave out the encounter date and divider above each SOAP section, go to Settings → Profile & Practice and clear Include encounter date and divider above each SOAP section, then click Save insertion settings.

Import your schedule

On the Practice Fusion agenda, open the extension and click Import schedule. Review the visits, then confirm. It imports up to 100 visible rows at a time.

If the extension says your session expired

You’ll see Session expired — Reconnect OrthOS before continuing. Connect it again, as above.

Any other EHR

Open the note and use Export:
  • Copy (rich text) keeps headings and formatting. Paste it into your EHR’s note.
  • Copy plain text for EHRs that don’t accept formatting.
  • PDF preview to save or attach the note as a PDF.
