# If the network drops

> Your recording is saved on the device and uploads when you're back online.

Keep talking. The app records to your iPhone or iPad first, then uploads in the background.

## What you'll see

| Message | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Offline - recording locally** | You lost the connection. Audio is still being captured on this device. |
| **Recording audio** | The live transcript isn't available. The audio will be processed after you finish. |
| **Device offline** | The recording is saved and will upload when you're back online. |
| **Queued…** / **Uploading recording…** | The upload is waiting or in progress. |
| **Transcribing audio…** | The audio arrived and is being transcribed. |
| **Report ready** | The note is drafted. Tap **Open report**. |
| **Processing failed** | Tap **Retry**. |

## What the app does for you

* Uploads retry automatically.
* When you open the app, or come back to it, unfinished recordings are picked up again.
* Swiping away a card that hasn't uploaded only hides it. The audio and retries are kept.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Don't delete the app while a recording is waiting to upload. The audio lives on that device until it uploads.

## Check on a recording

Open **More** → **Recordings**. Filter by **Processing**, **Ready** or **Unlinked**. Open a recording to **Retry** it.

If a recording isn't attached to a visit, open it and tap **Attach recording**, choose the visit, then **Attach & generate**. You can also choose **Create unscheduled visit & report**.
