# Templates and macros

> Shape how notes are written, and reuse the wording you say every day.

**Templates** set the structure of a note. **Macros** are saved passages, like your standard injection education or PT order, that you insert while editing.

## Manage your library

Open **Templates**. The **Report library** has two tabs:

* **Templates**: click **New template**, write it, then **Save**.
* **Macros**: click **New macro**. Fill in its **Category**, **Region** and **Triggers**, then **Save**.

## Use a macro in a note

While editing a note on the web, type **/** and pick the macro. On iPad, open the **Macros** tab beside the note.

## Choose your templates

* **Each provider** picks the templates for their own visits in **Settings** → **My report templates**.
* **Administrators** set visit types and the practice's templates in **Settings** → **Visit types & report templates**.
