# Document inbox

> Upload outside records and file them to the right patient.

Use **Documents** for anything that arrives from outside: referrals, imaging reports, records from another practice.

**1. Upload**

Click **Upload files**. You can add PDFs, images, or a ZIP of several files.

**2. Review**

Each upload is read and matched to a patient. Filter by **Needs review** and click **Review**.

**3. Attach**

In **Review and attach**, click **Attach**, or **Attach all** for a batch. If the patient isn't in your practice yet, click **New patient**.

If a document couldn't be read, it shows under **Failed**. Click **Retry scan**.

Attached documents feed the pre-visit briefing for that patient's next visit.
